A gorgeous vintage mens silk juban with a beautiful, fierce handpainted dragon flying between the shoulders on the back.

In Japanese culture the dragon symbolizes wealth and power & is associated with the direction of the east and used as a symbol of the Spring season. This100% fine silk juban with white silk lining is in very good vintage condition with a tiny mark on the back of the right sleeve

In contrast to womens kimono, mens kimonos are typically in subdued, darker colours with subtle patterns and textures, however the juban, worn as a secondary layer under the kimono is often richly patterned or may have a hand-painted design. Although this is a mens juban it could also be worn by a woman.
